Ginnie is a fully qualified (>400 hours) Iyengar Yoga Teacher. One of only two teachers in the UK for the Lincolnshire area and certificated by the IY (UK), demonstrating the high quality training endorsed by B.K.S Iyengar in Pune, India. 

While many may not be familiar with the term "Iyengar", many of the poses (asanas) Ginnie teaches are very familiar to you all. Those who have practiced other styles or who are new to yoga, are all welcome to come and visit us at Iyengar Yoga Grantham.

What is Iyengar Yoga and is it for me?

Iyengar Yoga is a system of yoga named after B.K.S. Iyengar and the teaching traditions of this children and grandchildren. 

 

Iyengar yoga places great focus on the correct alignment of the body during your yoga practice. The approach is disciplined and progressive. Via the use of props and supports, it provides the potential for students, of all ages and physical abilities, to realise the benefits of poses and progress in their yoga practice safely. 

 

Ginnie as your teacher

Ginnie is an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham. She additional has a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE). She now applies her >15 year teaching experience in the yoga class room, sharing the benefits of Iyengar Yoga in the Grantham and Nottingham areas.
